2014 Class/Workshop Information

Hello All! :) I can not believe this is the last day of 2013! What an awesome year it has been here at Russell Photography! We recently taught our very first workshop/course at ATU at the end of November. I want to thank each and every person that attended the class. 

In this course we covered a little bit of everything. We talked about new "tricks" for the photographer or parent wanting to learn how to take better portraits of their children. We talked in depth about newborn safety and how to set up a room for a newborn shoot. 

 

I also want to thank our sweet models for giving us their time and allowing us to capture them.We got to hold and photograph the most precious Newborn model ever! These are all photos from some of the students in the workshop. Thank you guys for sending/tagging us!

 

There were many laughs during the section about how to take great pictures of a less than cooperative toddler! I shared some personal stories and tricks for what I feel is the best way to work with those sweet little ones. We also had a fabulous child model (although she informed me she was NOT a child!) Thank you, Audrey Lynn!

 

But, my favorite part of the course was teaching these ladies how to take their camera out of auto and into manual. 20 people left the classroom feeling confident about how to use their camera, and each of them promised me to never use auto again! ( I will find out if you do, ladies!) Just kidding... But seriously, THANK YOU to everyone that attended this course. It was a blast getting to talk to all of you and I enjoyed my time with you so very much. 

If you know someone that could learn from the workshop you attended, please tell them we will be doing the exact same one on Saturday, February 1st. The class will be from 1:00pm-5:00pm. It will be $75 per student, or $70 with Tech ID/55+.

Rusty will be teaching an Introduction to Sports and Action Photography course on Saturday, March 8th from 1:00pm-5:00pm. The cost per student is $75 or $70 with Teach ID/55+. This class is great for the sports enthusiast with a desire to shoot sporting events, or a parent looking to take better photographs of their children's activities. He will go over basic techniques and concepts to dramatically improve your sports photos.
This course will include a model as well, so you will have a chance to test out everything you just learned with Rusty there to answer any questions you may have.



On Saturday, April 19th from 9:00-4:00pm (one hour lunch break) I will be teaching an Advanced Portrait Photography course. This course is designed for the photographer looking to take their photography to the next level. I will be speaking to photographers that have moved beyond just shooting for fun/hobby are ready to fine tune their skills. We will cover EVERYTHING! I will go in depth with what I do to prepare for a shoot, lighting techniques, editing, marketing, legal business documents you will need to get started, etc. This course will be all day because we will need all day to cover everything. If you are considering earning an income as a photographer, I highly suggest you take this course. I took this course at ATU two years ago, and it changed everything for me. The cost per student is $125 or $120 with Tech ID/55+.
